Cosmetic eyebrow tattooing has become very popular over the years, there are those who want to save time and stop drawing them on every morning, to fix symmetry and shape and those with sparse hair. People tend to think of microblading as the more natural looking style, when in fact depending on your skin type and condition other styles may achieve a more natural look for you.
Microblading is the technique of cutting hair strokes into your skin with a blade and rubbing the pigment over these cuts. This technique looks great when there's hair and adds to making it look thicker and improving the shape. As this technique actually cuts the skin, it is harsher than machine techniques and has the potential to leave scarring after repeated appointments. Microblading isn't a "one size fits all" type of treatment, it is NOT ideal for mature thin, fragile skin and not for oily skin with large pores. Oily skin blurs the sharp pigmented hair strokes in the skin leaving a less desirable outcome. If you don't fall into these categories Microblading could just be for you but just be aware this style doesn't last as long as powder brows normally lasting 6-12 months before a redo is needed, there are many factors that affect the longevity such as medications, lifestyle, skincare, work, sun etc.
Powder Brows is a machine technique, this style works for ALL skin including sensitive and mature skin, it is gentle, usually lasts 12-24 months. A Lot of people think this technique can look too bold but this technique can be as soft or as dark as you want it to be. Keep in mind many pictures online you see of powder brows shows the freshly tattooed brows which is dark and intense, these heal 30-50% lighter as the colour changes and settles into the skin over the 4 week healing process, i try to take photos straight after and healed so people can see how much they change through healing and how natural they settle into the skin, so trust the process.
Combination Brows is as the name suggests a combination of both techniques which can be done in different styles from a few strokes in the front and shading on the rest of the body to hair strokes on the whole brow and shading through the body. If you are wanting cosmetic tattooed brows but are not sure what style you want, book a consultation so we can discuss what is best suited for your skin.

That sounds fantastic Sharon! Let’s see if it would suit me at my next appointment…
As you know I love my new tinted brows (and curled lashes) but to not have to redo them so often…That could be awesome!
